4 Best Painters Near Four Oaks, NC Ranked by Chooz Score

The owner answers for his own work, and it shows from the first phone call. Scott Tomlinson and estimator Jake Tomlinson stay hands-on from the opening walkthrough and written quote all the way to the final touch-ups, and the company responds to nearly every review that comes in.

Those replies aren't copy-paste thank-yous. They name the reviewer, reference the actual project, and read like a person wrote them, which is what the Chooz Score's review response quality component is built to reward. Across the reviews, a pattern emerges. People feel looped in the whole way through, and the follow-through doesn't stop at the last coat.

At the time of our analysis, Oak City Coatings carried a Chooz Score of 86.9/100. Owner replies appear on every review we analyzed, each addressed to the specific reviewer and project rather than pasted in. Family-owned and led by Nick O'Keefe, who spent over a decade in paint and coatings before founding it, the company has served the Raleigh area for over five years, is accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and is registered in North Carolina as Business Entity No. 2106189. It covers Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, and the surrounding Triangle.

Across its review profiles, the company held over 60 Google reviews with a 5.0-star rating, along with 5.0 stars on Angi and 100% recommended on Facebook. None of the reviews we analyzed fell below five stars, reflecting consistently positive feedback in the reviews we checked.

When we ran our analysis, Grady Jones Paint had earned a Chooz Score of 84.2%. The veteran-owned company has painted homes across the Triangle since 1980, and its owner, Clee, handles quotes and color consultations himself. It serves Garner, Raleigh, Clayton, and the surrounding Wake and Johnston County communities.

The company held over 25 Google reviews with a 4.9-star rating. Google is the only platform where it carries published reviews, so the profile rests on a single source rather than several.

When we ran our analysis, NC Paint & PowerWash held over 1,000 Google reviews with a 4.9-star rating, along with 98% recommended on Facebook across over 25 reviews and 3.5 stars on Yelp. The Google average is drawn from far more reviews than the other two profiles combined, where the ratings are more mixed on much smaller samples.

The company earned a Chooz Score of 80.1%. Family owned and operated, it has worked across Garner and the greater Triangle as a registered North Carolina business (Entity No. 1144533) for nearly three decades. Its services span residential and commercial painting, pressure and power washing, deck and fence staining, gutter cleaning, and sheetrock repair.
