Homeowners in Baldwinsville, NY and the surrounding Central New York area have access to several highly rated painting contractors. Across the companies serving this community, reviewers consistently highlight crews that show up on time, communicate throughout the project, and leave job sites cleaner than they found them. Here are the top-rated painting contractors on Chooz Painters.
The last time we conducted our Chooz Score analysis, Joseph Rivers Painting had over 300 Google reviews with a 5.0-star rating. This company earned a Chooz Score of 88.9% and has been in business for over 12 years, with 96% recommended on Facebook and 5.0 stars on Yelp. What comes through most clearly in the reviews is the range of projects this team handles - from log cabins and 1850s Victorian homes to commercial office spaces and even a historic courthouse cupola. If you have an older home or a complex exterior with lots of trim work, Joseph Rivers Painting is a strong choice.
A pattern that stands out across dozens of reviews is how many customers mention the crew by first name. Foreman names like Zack, Matt, Bill, and Anthony appear repeatedly from unrelated homeowners, which suggests stable, dedicated teams rather than revolving contractors. Several customers also describe hiring them a second time or recommending them to family, which speaks to the kind of trust that builds over repeat projects.
- Multiple reviewers mention that crews focused exclusively on their project rather than juggling several jobs at once, keeping timelines short and predictable
- Customers with historic and older homes praise the company's ability to handle lead-safe protocols, wood rot repair, and detailed trim painting
- Commercial clients, including a church sanctuary and office repaints, report the same level of professionalism and care as residential customers
"We had our log cabin painted last summer and it still makes us smile every time we drive up the driveway. The team was professional, friendly and their work is top notch!" - Jill Bristol, Google Review
For homeowners closer to the Syracuse metro area looking for careful, hand-brushed results, Empire Painting Services, LLC offers a detail-driven approach. With over 12 years in business, owner Rob Wengert personally handles every estimate and follows up through project completion. If you want an owner-operated company where the person quoting the job stays involved through the final walkthrough, Empire Painting is a good fit.
What reviewers describe most often is Rob's communication style - he checks in regularly, provides daily progress updates, and is quick to respond to calls and texts. Several customers also highlight that Empire deliberately hand-brushes rather than sprays, and the quality difference is visible in cleaner edges and more even coverage. Repeat customers appear in the reviews as well, with at least one homeowner hiring them twice after being impressed with the first interior job.
- Customers consistently mention that the crew scraped, sanded, and caulked surfaces thoroughly before applying any paint
- Multiple reviewers praise daily cleanup and end-of-day site organization, noting that living in the home during the project was easy
