Painting and drywall, Compass Coatings
About Painting and drywall, Compass Coatings
Look closely at what Compass Coatings customers describe, and a clear pattern comes into focus. Moe leads the crew himself, and he came to painting after years managing a large paint company before going out on his own. Homeowners across Statesville and the surrounding North Carolina towns describe a painter who shows up when he says he will, keeps the work area clean, and finishes without the mess that so often trails a paint job.
The work itself runs wide. Compass Coatings handles interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, drywall repair, popcorn ceiling work, pressure washing, and garage floor coatings, and Moe walks each client through color selection and planning from the first conversation onward.
What stands out is how the relationships hold. One family had him painting their remodel room by room over a full year. Another hired him again once they saw the first result. Every project starts with a free consultation or estimate, and the crew treats each home the way the owners would treat it themselves.

Additional Questions Answered
What can homeowners expect when Compass Coatings paints their home interior?
Interior painting is the core of what Compass Coatings does, from single rooms to a whole house. Mike Smith came away feeling like "The house feels like it is new." Elizabeth Kokinakos found the crew "So professional and polite." and praised the finish. Work moves quickly and cleanly, and homeowners describe rooms that look refreshed without the disruption a repaint often brings.
Is Compass Coatings reliable about showing up and finishing on schedule?
Yes, punctuality is one of the most repeated themes across their reviews. J R noted that Moe "showed up exactly when he said he would." and West Miller simply wrote "Always on time" about the crew. Clients describe a painter who keeps to the schedule he sets and communicates along the way, which is part of why several of them call him back for more work.
Does Compass Coatings refinish kitchen cabinets along with wall painting?
Yes, cabinet work sits right alongside their interior painting. Dennis T started with several rooms, then decided to "have him paint our kitchen cabinets as well." On Angi, Brea S. described an ongoing remodel covering exterior, interior, and cabinets, adding that "He does beautiful work" Cabinet refinishing pairs naturally with a room repaint, and homeowners tend to expand the scope once they see the first results.
How does Compass Coatings treat a home during a painting project?
They treat the home with care and leave it clean. Martin Comer, a self-described picky consumer, said the crew "treated our home with the upmost respect" and recommended them without reservation. Moeen described a team that "cleaned up meticulously after each day." The through line across reviews is a job site kept tidy from the first day to the last, so families are not left cleaning up after the painters.
Can Compass Coatings help with choosing paint colors and planning?
Yes, color guidance is part of the service from the first conversation. Moe walks clients through color selection, planning, and recommendations before any painting begins. Donna Crawford found him "knowledgeable about paint colors and what works" and credited that guidance for the result. Dennis T learned that Moe had managed a large paint company before going independent, and reviewers point to that background when they describe his eye for color and finish.
Does Compass Coatings handle work beyond standard interior wall painting?
Yes, the scope reaches well past basic wall painting. Mike StClair hired Moe to scrape and repaint popcorn ceilings, paint several rooms and hallways, and pressure wash the garage, calling him "just an awesome guy!!" Compass Coatings also handles exterior painting, drywall repair, deck painting, and garage floor coatings. For many homeowners the first project grows once they see how much the crew can take on under one roof.
What do Compass Coatings clients say about communication and follow-through?
Clients describe steady, clear communication from the first call onward. On Angi, Mel V. called Moe "a good communicator throughout the process" and came away satisfied with the results. Across Google reviews, homeowners repeat the same note, easy to reach, quick to respond, and clear about the plan for each day. That steadiness is a big reason people return to him and pass his name to neighbors.
Is Compass Coatings registered as an official business entity in North Carolina?
Yes. Compass Coatings LLC is a registered limited liability company in North Carolina, listed under NC Business Entity No. 2615941. The business is formed and on record with the state, operating out of Statesville.
